Congratulations on your engagement! Now that you are engaged you need to start planning and in order for the wedding plans not to be overwhelming you will need to first decide upon the date that you would want to get married, this is normally within one year of getting married. You will still need to bear in mind the amount of money that you have to spend so both you and your spouse will need to compile a budget based on all the sources of finance for the wedding. When visiting the different locations chosen remember that the prices that you are told can vary depending on the date and time of year and time of day, the size of your wedding, the level of formality and most importantly the location.

Now that you basically know what you have ahead of you before the wedding it is time to make the announcement of your engagement, if you haven’t already done so. You can put your engagement announcement in your local newspaper or in any paper that you wish. You will first need to find out the cost of placing the engagement announcement in the newspaper and contacting them. This is where you may use your engagement portraits.

Choosing the bridal party is the next task at hand. You should try to agree with your fiance on who should be a part of your bridal party.The earlier you ask them the better it will be for you. They will make the task seem less overwhelming as they assist you in putting together this wonderful, life-changing celebration of love.

Now it is time to make guest list. If you had an engagement party you should bear in mind that those guest should be invited to the wedding, unless you would want a small wedding and explain to them that the engagement party is the big bash for them to celebrate with you. At the time you are making the guest list remember to bear in mind your budget, you do not want to spend too much over your budget because you will be the one footing the bill.

It is never too early to start gown shopping. What have you always dreamt of as your ideal wedding gown. You could start by drawing it and then visiting stores to determine what gown best fits you. However, before you visit the store you could try learning more about the lingo for example read on the silhouettes that would flatter your body, the trail, the hues and necklines.
